PFF says that Tennessee Titans defense has second highest tackling grade in NFL
In recent years, Tennessee Titans defense has been impressive. Players like Jayon Brown, Adoree Jackson, Rashaan Evans, and Kevin Byard have been anchors on defense. This offseason has seen players like Jurrell Casey and Logan Ryan leave the team, but there is hope for the future. Here’s an impressiv stat from PFF:

In 2019, the Titans defense got a 80.6 tackling grade from PFF. This grade ranked them 2nd in the NFL. Players like Amani Hooker, Kevin Byard, and Kenny Vaccaro all contributed to this grade, all having under a 5% missed tackle percentage.
The Tennessee Titans will miss Logan Ryan and Jurrell Casey, but the defense will move along just fine without them. At first, I thought this would really hurt the Titans defense. Now, after some thought about the players left on this defense and the additions, I think they might even be better.
Mike Vrabel and his coaching staff should receive some of the credit for such a great team stat. Vrabel is a great defensive coach and his defensive staff is great at teaching players how to execute. This offseason, the Titans have added younger and more athletic players on defense. Players like Kristian Fulton, Vic Beasley, and Larrell Murchison will be good pieces for the Titans coaches to develop.
In 2020, a more athletic defense sets the Titans up to jump to number one in this team stat.
